Pioneering projects

Our story

At the core of LANSDOWNEMoritz is a shared motivation: to work on pioneering projects across the global energy and shipping sectors. We are drawn to situations where there is ambiguity, where markets are evolving, and where identifying and executing on the right opportunity requires judgement and deep experience as much as analysis.

How we operate

We believe the most valuable advisory comes from people who understand how markets operate in practice, how projects are delivered, and how commercial decisions are made under real-world constraints.

Our team reflects this, bringing together experience from consulting in shipping and energy, alongside experience in senior industry roles across these sectors.

Our culture is an important part of how we operate — we are collaborative, entrepreneurial and motivated by the success of the businesses and individuals we work with. We value long-term relationships and enjoy working with clients and partners who share a similar mindset — commercially focused, pragmatic and open to new ideas.

It may sound strange to some (but you will understand if you have worked with us), we only do business with people we like and who enjoy working with us. We all enjoy what we do and we don’t want this to ever change.

Defined by its people

The name

The name LANSDOWNEMoritz reflects the personality of the firm. It is intentionally without reference to a specific sector or service line. It represents a business that is defined by the people within it, the relationships it builds, and the work it chooses to do, rather than by a narrow label.

Lansdowne

The first part of the name of our organisation comes from the Lansdowne Club in central London where the earliest conversations on our business start-up came and where we continue to regularly host client meetings.

Moritz

The second part of our name comes from St Moritz, in Switzerland. A place that means a lot to one of our founders and somewhere where our friends and clients have spent good times with us, on and off the slopes.
